Turkey reports COVID-19 epidemic peak, says fitness minister

ANKARA – Turkey is experiencing the peak moment of the coronavirus epidemic due to “negligence” at weddings and other social gatherings, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said Wednesday amid an immediate increase in the number of instances and deaths.

Speaking after a meeting of his clinical team on coronavirus, Koca said the capital, Ankara, had noticed the fastest accumulation in the number of cases in recent times and added that 29865 fitness personnel had so far the virus, 52 of whom have died.

“The epidemic continues more and more. The virus spreads to more people every day. The number of our tests is expanding every day, the number of our new patients is not decreasing,” said Koca.

The number of new instances of COVID-19 has increased from 1596 to 273301 in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health, while the number of deaths from the virus has increased from 45 to 6462.Total recoveries amounted to 246,876, according to the data.(Reports via Ece Toksabay; Written through Tuvan Gumrukcu)
