Milei’s victory, in the midst of a deeply divided campaign, raises questions about possible autocracy and electoral fraud, echoing accusations made through Trump and former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.
Bitcoin Reaction: Bitcoin’s BTC/USD cryptocurrency rose approximately 3% following Javier Milei’s victory in the Argentine presidential race. Over the weekend, Bitcoin remained strong until Sunday afternoon when rumors began to circulate about Milei’s smart functionality. The cryptocurrency saw an increase of just around 3% within 24 hours of Massa’s granting, reaching a price of $37,350.
Earlier this year, Milei expressed his opinion on Bitcoin, stating, “We want to perceive the central bank as a scam. “
He added: “What Bitcoin represents is the return of cash to its original creator, the personal sector. “
However, Milei proposed making Bitcoin legal tender. He advocated the abolition of the country’s central bank and the dollarization of the Argentine economy.
