TWITTER REMOVES VIDEO PROMOTED BY TRUMP ON THE USE OF HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE FOR CORONAVIRUS
Twitter showed Tuesday restricting some of the functions of Donald Trump Jr.’s account after posting a video on hydroxychloroquine, a highly debatable drug that his father, President Trump, presented as a remedy for coronavirus.
A Twitter spokesperson showed that Donald Trump Jr.’s account would have limited capacity for 12 hours, and the social networking site deleted his tweet by sharing a video that gave the impression of showing doctors discussing the benefits of the drug for COVID-19 patients.
Trump’s tweet “was a violation of our COVID-19 disinformation policy. We are acting in accordance with our policy here,” the spokesman said.
Trump Jr. said the Chinese government that spread incorrect information about the coronavirus violated its rules.
