Trump, 74, who continued the severity of the pandemic, even as the death toll in the United States exceeded 200,000, announced in a nighttime tweet that he and the first girl, Melania Trump, 50, tested positive and quarantined.

Meadows said Trump’s doctor would continue to treat him at the White House, refusing to give the main points of any remedies provided.

While his effect on the race remains unpredictable, the lightning news has had immediate electoral consequences for Trump, forcing him to cancel a rally scheduled for later Friday in florida’s key state.

News of Trump’s infection right after the trial of one of his closest advisers, Hope Hicks, raised fears from an organization of instances emanating from the center of the White House.

Trump met with dozens of other people a week and reportedly went to a fundraiser in New Jersey after learning that Hicks had contracted the virus.
The White House said it was looking for contacts, while Melania Trump’s spokeswoman said the couple’s 14-year-old son, Barron, had tested negative.
Vice President Mike Pence, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said they had tested negative, and the White House said Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett had also received the light.
But GOP President Ronna McDaniel, who was with Trump on September 25, tested positive this week, according to the U. S. media.
Trump’s positive check is more than a public relations crisis for a president who has bet everything on trying to convince Americans that fears of the virus are exaggerated.
