MANILA, Philippines – Clinical trials in Cavite for the progression of two 2019 coronavirus disease vaccines (COVID-19) will begin in two weeks, Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla said Friday.
“Cavite will help La Salle HSI get others involved in the vaccine trial. We estimate that maybe up to 10,000 more people will be involved in the trial and will begin in the next two weeks,” Remulla said in an interview. ABS-CBN news channel.
He said other people over the age of 21 to 45 who are the “propagators of the disease” will be the main targets of the trials. Participation in the trials will be voluntary.
Clinical trials will only be conducted for citizens of an express city, but in Cavite spaces, according to Remulla.
He added that the vaccine guarantees its safety.
“The developers have entrusted us that clinically this is not a harmful vaccine. Effectiveness depends more on what they’re looking for, whether or not there’s a difference about who’s going to get the placebo and who’s going to get the vaccine if there’s a difference in infection rate,” he added.
Once the vaccines are given, it will take a month and a portion to see the effectiveness of the vaccines, according to Remulla.
Remulla had previously announced that cavite vaccines came here from two pharmaceutical giants in the United States and the United Kingdom.
