SINGAPORE: It will soon be mandatory to use the TraceTogether app or token to register SafeEntry in some places with giant teams of people.
The Office of Digital Government and Smart Nation (SNDGO) announced Tuesday (October 20) that SafeEntry, only traceTogether, will be rolled out gradually in Singapore locations until the end of the year.
He said this transition from other SafeEntry methods, such as digitizing identity cards, was important as the country was preparing to resume opportunities on a larger scale and reopen its economy safely amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The TraceTogether program, which includes an application and token, relies on proximity knowledge to provide an initial list of close contacts for COVID-19 cases.
Combined with SafeEntry and related virtual systems, the program would allow contact search groups the time it takes to identify and quarantine nearby contact from 4 days to less than two days on average.
This is helping you prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community.
BETTER PROTECTION
“Using SE only TT (TraceTogether-only SafeEntry) will provide a greater guarantee that everyone else provides in those larger-scale activities through effective touch tracking through participation in the TT program,” SNDGO said.
“TT-only SE ensures that if a COVID-19 case is identified, we may temporarily notify nearby contacts at those locations in the TT program.
“Close contacts can take the necessary precautions to protect their loved ones. “
When SafeEntry TraceTogether is only deployed on one site, visitors will no longer be able to log in by scanning QR codes with phone cameras, SingPass Mobile, or scanning their non-public identifiers.
Instead, they will need to use the TraceTogether app to scan the location QR code or allow access to scan the QR code in their TraceTogether token.
IN PHASE
Since August, SafeEntry, only TraceTogether, has been on trial in several places with higher human trafficking or in places where other people are expected to be nearby for long periods of time.
From now until mid-November, SafeEntry, TraceTogether, will be implemented in places that host activities that attract larger teams of people.
These come with cinemas, places of worship with over a hundred participants and places for live exhibitions and professional events.
“Members of the public who intend to attend these activities must download the TT app or retrieve their TT token as soon as possible,” SNDGO said.
By December, SafeEntry only TraceTogether will be deployed to all popular positions that lately require registration, adding jobs, schools, shopping malls, retail food and beverage outlets and hotels.
You will have a complete list of sites on the SafeEntry online page and it will be updated “continuously,” SNDGO said.
TraceTogether tokens can now be collected at 38 network centers and clubs (CC) and will be available at 108 CC until the end of November.
