Tourists dominate Dominican hoteliers’ hopes of recovering

Santo Domingo – While the country has opened its borders to receive foreign visitors and citizens after 3 months of closure, tourism activity has not tasted the expected through the industry’s business leaders.

And the concern that the uncertainty created through the Covid-19 would restrict the in arrival of tourists, the hoteliers were optimistic. However, the result dictates otherwise.

Few passengers arrived: only 133,305 entered in July through Dominican airports, adding Las Americas, which is the number of tourist arrivals in the country (the main one is Punta Cana), reports El D’A.

These 133,305 tourists make up a minimum of 75.4% to the 504,821 tourists won in the same month last year.
