Tourism in the middle of the coronavirus: which countries have lifted, relieved or maintained restrictions?

Forty percent of all destinations in the world have now eased past restrictions to involve the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, while a “slow and responsible” restart of the foreign tourism sector is underway, the World Tourism Organization said in a new report. .

The UN tourism industry firm said its most recent outlook based on knowledge on 19 July was “compared to 22% of destinations that had eased restrictions on 15 June and 3% observed last 15 May.”

The report says 87 global destinations have eased restrictions. Of these 4 countries, only 4 have removed all restrictions and 83 have maintained safe measures, such as partial border closure. Meanwhile, 115 destinations “continue to keep their borders absolutely closed to tourism.”
