MANILA, Philippines – Workers in the hospitality and tourism sectors, production companies, frontline workers and economic-preceding workers will have to go through loose swab tests for coronavirus (COVID-19) to prevent the spread of the disease in the workplace, the Ministry of Labour and Employment (DOLE) said Sunday.
“The COVID-19 check is lazy for employees,” Bello said.
Workers from the hotel and tourism sectors of Boracay, Coron, El Nido, Panglao, Siargao and other known tourist spaces through the Ministry of Tourism will be evaluated every 4 weeks.
For workers of production companies and utilities in economic zones located in high-risk areas, they shall be tested once per quarter.
Leading and economicly precedent painters, or those running in front-line sectors, both public and private; have superior interaction and exposure to the public and live or paint in specific spaces of interest, will also have to be tested once per quarter.
“Health leave benefits, health insurance coverage, the addition of an additional wage allowance, for workers shown through COVID 19 RT-PCR control or the topic of close 14 days of 40 contacts should also be provided to workers,” the Department of Labor said.
The memorandum covers all establishments, projects, sites and sites where paints are made in sectors of economic activity with the exception of the public sector, DOLE added.
