Toro launches Sustainability Endures platform

Toro (TTC) has presented its Sustainability Endures platform, which will strengthen TTC’s strategic focus on sustainability and its long-standing commitment to making a positive financial, social and environmental impact effective around the world.

Sustainability is at the heart of TTC’s purpose and culture. In fiscal year 2019, TTC strengthened its sustainability by building a multifunctional sustainability leadership team to expand and implement a company-wide sustainability strategy. In doing so, TTC strives to build on its sustainability culture and foster progress through a transparent and built-in approach.

“Sustainability is not a new concept for The Toro Company,” said Richard Olson, president and CEO of TTC. “It is deeply rooted in our purpose and is the foundation of our strategic business priorities to drive successful growth, increase productivity and operational excellence, and empower our employees. We, who sustainable progression practices and guiding principles are at the heart of long-term creation and positive replacement in the markets we help and in the communities we serve around the world.

Sustainability Endures presents 4 strategic pillars: people, products, processes and elaboration plans, which describe and advise Toro’s sustainable progression methods and implement them. Through these pillars, TTC focuses on the environmental, social and governance spaces it believes are vital and where they can have a significant impact, adding aptitude and safety, diversity, equity and inclusion, water conservation, product innovation and operational efficiency.

This year also marked a vital milestone for The Toro Company in its sustainable progression efforts with the launch of its 2019 Sustainable Development Report. The report reflects TTC’s culture of innovation and long-standing commitment to economic, environmental and social duty from its products to global and philanthropic operations around the world. The 2019 Sustainability Report focuses on TTC’s efforts in its 2019 fiscal year and, as such, does not cover its reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic or recent social discontent and social justice activities similar to systemic racism that have impacted the lives of many people. . around the world.

Key sustainability projects and achievements for fiscal year 2019 include:

“While sustainability has traditionally been part of our culture, we will continue to take action to ensure we are meeting the demands of the rapidly changing world we live in. There is much we have done, and there is more we can, and will, do,” added Olson. “Sustainability Endures is both a celebration of our long-standing focus on social and environmental responsibility, and a signal of our continued commitment to expand our positive impact around the world, which is inherent in our legacy of excellence.”
