Tony Blair has been accused of violating coronavirus self-disalrillation regulations, after not being quarantined for a fortnight after two days at Donald Trump’s White House on a personal jet.
Photos received through the Sunday Telegraph show Blair leaving a luxurious place to eat in Mayfair, ten days after returning from Washington DC last month.
Blair reportedly appealed to Whitehall officials for a special exemption from The Covid-19 rules, but did not obtain the mandatory special exemption letter for self-deissing.
The former prime minister had traveled to the United States for a rite of blanks in which Israel established formal relations with Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, and stated that he followed regulations on participation in “international conferences”, which can simply exempt him from quarantine.
But this exemption applies only to diplomats, staff of foreign agencies such as the United Nations and officials with foreign consequences who have obtained special immunity from isolation.
A 67-year-old Blair spokesman said he had been invited through the U. S. government because he had played a role in negotiating the Agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, adding that it “posed no threat to anyone,” as it was the first all tested, in the White House, and continuously upon his return.
“We follow all the rules of the British and American government as advised,” a spokesman added.
Blair flew to Washington on September 14 and photographed in the South Garden of the White House with a mask in his hand, while posing for photographs with political figures such as Kevin McCarthy, the Republican leader in the House of Representatives.
Veteran pollster Frank Luntz, who also at the event said, “Tony Blair, a rock star at this event. People were queuing up to take pictures with him.
He then returned to the UK two days later, and ten days later, on 26 September, he noticed that he was leaving Harry’s Bar in Mayfair, which prides itself on being ”one of London’s most modern and complicated personal clubs”.

Blair is believed to have travelled on a Falcon 7X aircraft, accompanied by a team of Scotland Yard coverage officers, and costs about 7,000 euros depending on when hiring a FalconX.
The former Labour leader granted an interview in June and said quarantine rules were “not very clear. “
“The key is to have transparent regulations, and some of them, frankly, like quarantine regulations when other people enter the country now, they are not very transparent,” he said.
He suggested that the government conduct massive airport testing and quarantine delays, touting “significant benefits to Americans and the economy,” and warned in July that the UK could feast on a “resurgence” of Covid-19 this winter.
British regulations dictate that those arriving in the UK are isolated unless they come from a country on the list of “travel corridors”, which has never included the US. U. S. , it has recorded more coronavirus deaths than anywhere else in the world.
Blair’s spokesman said: “The British government did not deny him the exemption. He said he would follow the rules on foreign conventions, which he did; the United States government had the legal scale because it was for the diplomatic convention in the White House.
“Mr Blair took the Covid test before leaving the UK, upon his arrival at the White House, on his return to the UK and has been examined several times since. All the evidence was negative. “
A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: “The FCDO grants exemptions to diplomats doing business because of the interests of the United Kingdom, representatives of foreign organizations, their families and dependents. People with an exemption won’t want to isolate themselves. “
