Three terrorists were killed in the middle of the night encounter in Shopian district in southern Kashmir, police officers said Wednesday.
Police, army and CRPF introduced a joint search-and-close operation in the district’s Sugan on Tuesday night, authorities said.
“During the search operation, the terrorists had the opportunity to surrender. However, they fired indiscriminately at the joint search team, which suffered reprisals that led to a meeting,” said a police spokesman.
