JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (AP) — More than 3,000 people took part in South Africa’s first Pride march since the COVID-19 pandemic Saturday, celebrating the LGBT community and defying a U. S. warning about a possible terrorist attack in the region. The government warned this week of a possible attack in Johannesburg’s Sandton district, where the march took place. The South African government expressed concern that the United States has not shared enough information to lend credibility to the alleged threat. Organizers said Saturday that the march would not be derailed through any form of threat.
