Finland on Wednesday revealed its style of traffic lighting devices for advice, while officials also announced the intensification of testing at the country’s main airport.
It was unveiled Wednesday at a press convention aimed at surveillance against coronaviruses at the border and was addressed through officials of the National Institute of Health and Welfare (THL), the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs and the Ministry of the Interior.
The smooth traffic style divides countries into 3 categories: those with a coronavirus scenario similar to or greater than Finland, those that are worse and those that are particularly worse.
In Europe, the countries classified as “green” by model, in addition to Finland, are Estonia, Latvia and Hungary.
In “green” countries, the threat of Covid-19 infection is particularly more consistent than in Finland. The prevalence of Covid-19 is below the point set by the Finnish government of 8 to 10 cases, consisting of 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. If you travel to these countries, Finnish citizens are requested to follow the recommendations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In “orange” countries, the threat of infection is more constant than in Finland. The prevalence is above the government limit, between 10 and 25 cases, consisting of 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. It is not advisable to go to these countries for no smart reason, and if readers from one of these countries arrive, they are asked to isolate themselves for two weeks.
In “red” countries, the threat of infection is particularly more consistent than in Finland or the threat cannot be reliably assessed. The prevalence of Covid-19 is high, with more than 25 cases consistent with 100,000 inhabitants, and others are asked to travel to those countries. If other people arrive from a red state, they are asked to quarantine themselves voluntarily for two weeks.
The story continues after the charts
Mika Salminen of THL reminded her audience that the smooth traffic style was only indicative and deserves not to be with government decisions related to the opening or end of borders.
Public servants can make individual decisions about mandatory aptitude controls and border quarantine orders.
“The goal of the style is to make sure that other people who have to have a “one-stop shop” to see what the threat is in the destination country and what they deserve to do when they return to Finland,” said Salminen, who added that THL is most likely to update the rankings each week.
Finland’s margin of error is limited, because under the Constitution, Finnish citizens still have the right to return to the country and all have the right to leave the country unless that right has been limited in particular by law.
THL said last week that more than some of the new infections in Finland came from abroad, and the government has also tightened restrictions.
The factor of imported instances raised the political calendar in August, as flights to Turku from Skopje in northern Macedonia brought a large number of passengers who were later evaluated for Covid-19.
Turku authorities temporarily began testing others on flights.
The deputy mayor of Vantaa, home to Finland’s busiest airport, also told the press conference how its municipal fitness staff had intensified at the airport.
“We temporarily established fitness consulting problems and set up an arrivals verification station, which operates 24 hours a day,” Timo Aronkyt said. “Health officials are indicating that arrivals from high-risk countries are monitored.”
“We have the ability to double or triple capacity. In addition, we make mass s”.
Aronkyt said “massive checks” referred to the control of all arriving on certain aircraft. For example, everyone who lands at Helsinki Airport is controlled on a plane from Romania.
The tests were voluntary, but almost those who arrived on those planes agreed to get tested.
On the spot, a doctor discusses the challenge with everyone on one of those planes who refuses to be examined, and of 350 arrivals from Romania that have been tested, two have been for Covid.
Aronkyt said that on Wednesday two aircraft had been the subject of “mass testing”, one from Frankfurt and Malaga. Authorities planned to do the same with a plane from Istanbul arriving on Thursday.
“On Monday, at all times we made a decision about which aircraft will be “mass tested,” Aronkyt said. If the scenario deteriorates, it is at all times imaginable to develop the tests.” The magnitude is decided according to the epidemiological scenario and the volume of air travel.
According to Lasse Ilkka, from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, a dozen tests were carried out at Helsinki Airport. In total, some 2,000 tests were carried out.
