The Vikings also ranked 18th among the Bobcats

DES MOINES, IA – The Peru State women’s basketball team fell to #18 Grand View on Wednesday, January 24, 76-55. The Bobcats are now 6-11 in the Heart of America Conference and 9-12 overall.  

The Bobcats got off to a slow start in the first half, but were able to find their rhythm in the second quarter. Maddy Duncan started the second quarter with a big 3-pointer from beyond the arc for the Bobcats. Kaylan Larry had a great quarter, scoring ten points for the Bobcats. Samantha Stewart had eight points in the break with five rebounds and Kylie Diaz had four rebounds. The Bobcats trailed 44-25 at halftime.

In the second half, the Bobcats got off to a smart start with back-to-back layups through Samantha Stewart. Despite the Vikings’ strong offense, the Bobcats didn’t give up. Hailey Ingram had a great fourth quarter, scoring six Troubles. Samantha Stewart had eight problems in the latter half and Olivia Williams had six. The seeded Vikings defeated the Bobcats, 76-55.

Samantha Stewart had 16 issues, six rebounds and two steals for the Bobcats. Kaylan Larry had ten problems with five rebounds and Hailey Ingram had problems with 3 rebounds. Maddy Duncan had six issues with five rebounds, Olivia Williams had six rebounds. Kylie Diaz grabbed six rebounds with 3 troubles for the Bobcats.

Next: The Bobcats will travel to Canton, Missouri to face the Culver-Stockton Wildcats on Saturday, January 27. The announcement is scheduled for 12:00 p. m.
