Treasurer Jim Chalmers welcomed the most recent GDP figures released on Wednesday via the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Australia’s Bureau of Statistics reported on Wednesday that the country’s GDP grew by 0. 1% in the March quarter.
During the year, the Australian economy grew by 1. 1 percent.
“Any expansion is welcome in the domestic cases we face,” said Mr Chalmers.
“Many economies around the world are feeling the effect of higher interest rates and high but moderate inflation.
“In the last year, around three-quarters of OECD economies have recorded a negative quarter, while Australia has stayed away from one so far. “
