The September 11 rite of Essex County will be online due to coronavirus

ESSEX COUNTY, New Jersey – Essex County officials will temporarily close the Eagle Rock Reserve to the public for an annual September 11 ceremony.This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the occasion can be seen online.

A solemn rite will take place on Friday, September 11, and the reservation will be closed from five a.m.10 a.m. from the event, authorities said.

A short program with a circle of family members who lost one enjoyed in the tragedies of September 11, elected officials and clergy of various denominations will take position at 8 am Commemorative wreaths will be placed on the monument and an American flag will be raised. The string quartet will conduct respectful musical choices at the memorial site after the rite until 2 p.m.

The rite will be broadcast live from 8 a.m.essex County’s online page and on social media.

“The occasions of September 11 replaced our lives, as did the coronavirus,” said Joseph DiVincenzo Jr., director of Essex County.”While we are still living with this pandemic, it is vital that we continue with those who lost their lives.”

“Our September 11 memorial is a special place for others to come for convenience and convenience because of its unique location and harsh message of peace and hope,” DiVincenzo said.
