EREVAN, AUGUST 19, ARMENPRESS. The new bridge at the Bagratashen-Sadakhlo border crossing on the Armenian-Georgia border was officially opened on 19 August.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia and Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili of Georgia inaugurated the Friendship Bridge.
In statements to the press, the Prime Ministers welcomed the release of the bridge marking the collegiate partnership and comprehensive cooperation between Armenia and Georgia.
“There is no doubt that the centuries-old relations between our two friendly countries, rooted in non-unusual values and an ancient heritage, want such a modern infrastructure, which creates a solid foundation for our long-term global cooperation. I am more than convinced that there are all the mandatory preconditions for the progress and deepening of relations with Sister Georgia, in accordance with the vital priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy,” Pashinyan said.
He added that despite the existing difficult challenge situations, there has been a remarkable expansion of the industry between Armenia and Georgia, the result of joint, uninterrupted and constant work.
“However, the industry and economic relations between Armenia and Georgia have greater potential. There are serious opportunities to deepen cooperation in industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, data and communications, shipping, energy, tourism and other sectors. It is clear that connecting routes are of paramount importance. importance for the progression of industry relations, which make integration into the global economy imaginable and ensure an important connection at the national, regional and foreign levels. The precedence given to the maritime transport sector in our bilateral cooperation and partnership in various foreign transport organizations allows us to take realistic measures not only in the gulf-Black Sea international maritime corridor, but also in other projects to ensure a nodal connection in the maritime transport sector,” the Armenian said. The prime minister said.
Speaking about cargo shipments, the Armenian prime minister said that it is mandatory to make more efforts to facilitate the movement of goods. In this context, he noted the importance of rail transport and multimodal transport, i. e. ferry transport.
“As a transit country, Georgia has a wonderful role for Armenia in terms of reliable source of energy resources, connection and communication. We have a wealth of experience in productive cooperation in the field of energy. The departments and agencies involved will have to bring to light day-to-day and consistent charts to give certainty to cybersecurity and the aforementioned areas.
