Washington, May 12 () Noting that the coronavirus pandemic has shown the limits of the existing foreign system, India’s envoy to the United States said that the post-Covid-19 world desires a style of globalization based on justice, equality and humanity.
Economic expansion and human well-being will have to go hand in hand and there is a need to ensure equitable, affordable and timely access to fitness products and technologies for all, India’s ambassador to the United States, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, said at a press conference. virtual interaction with the Asia Group hosted through former U. S. Ambassador to India on Monday, Richard Verma.
“The current pandemic shows the limits of the existing external system. In the post-Covid world, we want a style of globalization based on justice, equality and humanity,” Sandhu said.
Indian pharmaceutical corporations are world leaders in producing cheap medicines and vaccines, he said, adding that India is a trustworthy partner in providing medicines to the United States.
“Our strong and long-standing partnership with the U. S. in the realm of fitness and clinical studies has deepened further during the pandemic period,” he said.
Similarly, India is collaborating with the U. S. private sector. The U. S. government has been involved in vaccine development. The Serum Institute of India has collaborated with Codagenix Inc, a New York-based clinical-stage biotechnology company, to jointly develop a live attenuated vaccine against the emerging coronavirus. Sandhu said.
Bharat Biotech, Hyderabad, has collaborated with the University of Wisconsin-Madison and vaccine company FluGen to expand a COVID-19 vaccine called CoroFlu, he said.
Sandhu said virus containment and economic recovery will require foreign cooperation to complement domestic policy efforts.
India is also racing with its foreign spouses, adding its neighbors, to combat the pandemic. It has provided medical care and assistance to more than 123 spouse countries, he said.
“We took the lead in the SAARC region with an emergency relief package with an initial fund of $10 million. Our immediate reaction medical teams have been deployed in the Maldives, Kuwait. Our fitness experts practice percentages through online education for our neighbors and are active. in global efforts to scale up cures and vaccines,” the Indian diplomat said.
Noting that many things have changed in recent weeks, Sandhu said the world is absolutely different, as country after country has taken refuge in their homes to prevent the relentless march of the invisible enemy. Naturally, the country has erected its line of defense with the aim of minimizing the loss of life.
