PanARMENIAN.Net – Fernando de Noronha’s Archipelapass off the coast of Brazil is again open to travelers, but with an unforeseen catch. You can stop by if you show you’ve had Covid-19, CNN reports.
Fernando de Noronha, home of Baia do Sancho, named this year the beach in the world through Trip Advisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards, will reopen next week, according to the government of the state of Pernambuco, in northeastern Brazil.
“To land in the archipelago, the tourist will have to deliver the result of a positive PCR that goes back at least 20 days, or the result of serology appearing the presence of antibodies opposed to Covid,” his administrator, Guilherme Rocha, said on Thursday. at a press conference.
At the press conference, Rocha did not explicitly explain why Brazil would only settle for tourists to islands already affected by the disease.
A PCR test shows if you have the virus; serological control shows whether the frame has ever developed antibodies opposed to coronavirus.
Fernando de Noronha, an organization of 21 volcanic islands, has been closed to tourists since mid-March due to the pandemic. On July 31, it reopened only for other people who lived there and for local researchers.
The archipelago is a national park and one of the most visited tourist attractions in Brazil. Last year it received 106,000 tourists, 90% of whom were Brazilian. The national park was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001.
