A new saliva test to diagnose COVID-19 identifies evidence of the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in the human framework in a second, 96% of the time, and also diagnoses a variety of other viruses, according to Israel’s largest hospital, Sheba. Medical Center.
Israeli researchers from Sheba’s “New Sight” company who developed the check say the patient simply rinses his mouth with a saline solution and then spits into a check tube. The tube is then placed in a light-emitting device and analyzes the reflected image gained from the substance in the tube, according to which the device processes the gained knowledge and therefore determines whether the patient is inflamed with COVID-19 or not.
“The gentle projection through the control tube creates a luminous signature with a safe curve,” professor Eli Schwartz, director of the Sheba Center for Tropical Medicine, told the Ynet in Hebrew. “Thanks to synthetic intelligence, the device processes the curve and can identify a person’s prestige and the type of virus, if any.”
The control, carried out so far in 250 subjects over the age of 18, was known to be known for other viruses besides SARS-CoV-2. The device used to process samples costs around $200, and prices for individual checks around 25 cents, or 85 agorot, in Israeli currency.
“The device can be placed in airports, concert halls, army camps and even at home,” Schwartz said. “It’s simple, it’s cheap, the check is non-invasive and very accurate.”
Approval applications have already been submitted to global fitness authorities, developed through Israeli researchers at Sheba Medical Center.
