Indiana reported 14,200 new coronavirus cases in the week ending Sunday, Aug. 21, down 8. 8 from last week. Last week, there were 15,574 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19.
Indiana ranked 13th among the states where the coronavirus spread the fastest, according to a study by Johns Hopkins University’s USA TODAY data network. Over the past week, coronavirus cases in the United States have declined 11. 2% from beyond the week, with 707,345 cases reported. With 2. 02 percent of the nation’s population, Indiana recorded 2. 01 percent of the nation’s cases last week. Across the country, 8 states have had more cases in the past week than in the past week.
Delaware County reported 186 and one death last week. A week earlier it had reported 183 and 3 deaths. Throughout the pandemic it has reported 27,391 and 461 deaths.
Randolph County has reported 55 cases and one death in the past week. A week earlier, he had reported cases and one death. During the pandemic, it has reported 6,419 cases and 152 deaths.
Henry County has reported 121 cases and one death in the past week. A week earlier, he had reported cases and one death. During the pandemic, it has reported 14,449 cases and 238 deaths.

Across Indiana, cases fell in 51 counties, with the most productive declines in Marion County, with 1894 cases up from 2201 the previous week; in Lake County, with 888 cases out of 1080; and Johnson County, with 392 out of 530 instances.

In Indiana, the worst weekly outbreaks per user occurred in Huntington County with 567 cases per 100,000 per week; Shelby County with 445; and Knox County with 383. The Centers for Disease Control says the network’s peak transmission levels start at a hundred cases per week.
Marion County, with 1894 instances, added the maximum number of new instances overall; Lake County, with 888 instances; and Allen County, with 824. The number of weekly cases is higher in 37 counties than last week. Last week’s worst speed increases occurred in Warrick, Dearborn and Knox counties.

In Indiana, another 77 people were reported to have died from COVID-19 in the week ending Sunday. Last week, another 78 people were killed.
A total of 1,873,396 more people in Indiana have tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic began, and another 24,339 people have died from the disease, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. In the United States, 93,641,944 more people tested positive and 1,041,149 other people died.
