PARIS – France reported 22,591 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, and the count surpassed the threshold of 20,000 for the third time in six days, while hospitalizations and deaths similar to the disease also continue to rise.

The cumulative number of instances shown was more than 779,063 and the seven-day moving average of new instances consisted of a higher day through more than a record 17,000 for the third consecutive day.
