Manitoba has been in the midst of the worst COVID-19 figures since the start of the pandemic.
On Monday, the province reported 241 new cases and five new deaths, 4 of which are similar to outbreaks in gyms or residences in Winnipeg, said Dr. Brent Roussin, director of public health.
New case numbers continue a trend of daily three-digit announcements in recent weeks, with a record 480 new cases on Friday The epicenter of this expansion in Winnipeg, where the rate of check positivity is 9. 8% (compared to 9% across the province).
The province faces persistent outbreaks in more than a dozen non-public care homes and other sites, adding two Winnipeg hospitals, 4 schools and nine correctional facilities, as well as a construction in some cases in some First Nations.
Tensions in the fitness care formula are increasing as more people in Manitoba are hospitalized by COVID-19, leading some fitness care to explicitly consider hospital capacity and fitness care formula.

Care homes
Manitoba has reported COVID-19 outbreaks in more than a dozen nursing homes across the province, resulting in at least 355 and 37 deaths as of November 2.
The deadliest outbreak in a Manitoba nursing home is Parkview Place in Winnipeg, owned by Revera, but the largest outbreak in a nursing home in the province is Maples Long-Term Care Home, also in Winnipeg.

Schools
Lately, Manitoba has had active COVID-19 outbreaks in 4 schools and a school where an outbreak has been declared over. An outbreak of COVID-19 is reported in a school when there is evidence of transmission at the school, i. e. if there is evidence that someone infided through someone else at the school.
The province’s first school outbreak occurred at John Pritchard School in Winnipeg, which was connected with at least 26 cases of COVID-19 and declared completed on October 20.
In addition to outbreaks, the province has published dozens of imaginable exhibits at Manitoba schools on its website, adding more than 150 exhibits at Winnipeg Health Region schools since September 25.

First nations
A total of 24 First Nations in Manitoba have reported cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, according to the Assembly of First Nations of Manitoba and the Coordination Team for response to the First Nations Pandemic of CoVID-19, organizations do not specify which ones.
Most of these communities, 17 in total, had active instances on Friday, the most recent day for which knowledge is available.
As of Friday, there were 516 active instances of COVID-19 among other First Nations people in the province, according to the pandemic reaction team. The federal government’s latest knowledge of the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch implies that 171 of these instances are in reserve.
The First Nations of Manitoba report a higher rate of positive checks than in the province as a whole. On Friday, the positive check rate for other First Nations people was 11%, the pandemic reaction team said, compared to 9% of Manitoba on Monday.
Some First Nations have implemented strict relief measures, adding Pimicikamak, which closed last week. On Saturday, Pimicikamak connected to 23 cases, 15 of them within the network itself.
Assistance from the First Nations Pandemic Response Team, as well as red cross assistance and federal government isolation stores, have been deployed in the First Nations, adding Little Grand Rapids, where more than 30 people have tested positive, and York Factory, where one in seven families tested positive after a visit to Winnipeg.
Correctional institutions
As of November 2, there were active COVID-19 cases in nine correctional facilities in Manitoba, and the highest number of cases is at the Headingley Correctional Center, where an outbreak was reported on October 13.
Outbreaks were also reported at the Headingley Correctional Center on November 1 and at the Agassiz Youth Center in Portage los Angeles Prairie on October 24.
