The Jewish faithful contribute and pray at Al Aqsa in Jerusalem despite the closure of the coronavirus

The ultra-Orthodox Jewish faithful entered the Al Aqsa compound on Sunday, witnesses said, despite the site’s closure Friday after Israel implemented a strict coronavirus blockade.

The organization prayed around Jerusalem’s Al Aqsa complex, which houses six mosques, the ancient Dome of the Rock, in commemoration of the Jewish New Year, known as Rosh Hashaná.

Described as “religious settlers”, they were “heavily guarded by Israeli police” and “went on provocative rituals and tours,” according to Palestine News and Info, which is connected to the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
