The colors of the umbrellas were selected according to the 8 shades of the LGBTQIA flag. The facility looks like a rainbow bomb. , an arrangement of flowers blooming on the floor of rio de janeiro. At its base, “solaroca” receives the iconic triple beach chairs created through opavivar!. the whole facility immerses itself in the carioca culture with the aim of occupying public spaces on an ambitious path.
“Solaroca” is an independent cell design, without heavy foundations – it is constant for light metal floor anchors. The dome was shaped like treated bamboo poles, based on a 2V geodesic design. The reciprocal joints were eccentric and used flexible textile ropes. attached to the hand, the roof used 110 umbrellas hooked to the layout, covering a domain of 102 m2 and a hemispheric surface of 204 m2. the layout is constant to the floor, the assembly procedure is silent and low environmental impact. it is fully reversible, can be packaged and transported somewhere else.
