WARSAW, Poland (AP) — The head of Polish state television, whom critics accuse of turning the station into a government spokesman, was fired Monday.
Jacek Kurski showed on Twitter that he is leaving TVP, saying it is a resolution of his “political environment. “The resolution came from the state-run National Media Council.
This is the third time in seven years that Kurski, 56, has been fired from his workplace through the same government, led by the right-wing Law and Justice party. He was rehired twice.
During his tenure, TVP defended the Catholic and family values promoted by the government and accused poland’s liberal and pro-European Union opposition parties.
