The El Paso locomotive will host a home football game for New Mexico United on September 5 as the venue changes.

The game El Paso Locomotive vs. New Mexico United on September 5th will now be played at Southwest University Park at 7:30 p.m., announced Thursday.

Originally explained for Albuquerque, the state’s COVID-19 restrictions save New Mexico from games.

“We are pleased to host this game with New Mexico United when they can’t play at home,” El Paso general manager Andrew Forrest said in a statement. “This is an exclusive opportunity to have an additional home game and play in front of our enthusiasts and we are pleased to welcome United back to El Paso and host this game.”

New Mexico owner Peter Trevisani said: “While we are disappointed that we will not be able to organize this game in New Mexico, we will continue to do everything possible to assist the Governor in her efforts to ensure the protection of New Mexicans COVID-19. El Paso allows a capacity of 800 enthusiasts in house games, and seasonal ticket holders have priority to purchase price tickets.

The attack will also be broadcast on CW El Paso-Las Cruces thirteen (Spectrum), 388 (Comcast), 8 (DirecTV), 17 (Dish), 19 (AT-T) and ESPN.
