The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said Monday that the death toll from nigeria’s COVID-19 pandemic was now 1,083, with only one death in the last 24 hours.
The NCDC announced it on its official Twitter account, pronouncing 132 new infections.
The public fitness firm said a new increase showed infections at 56,388.
In the same 24-hour cycle, another 185 people recovered from the virus, bringing the number of recoveries to 44337.
According to the agency, the state of Lagos has the number of instances registered on Monday with 52, the state of Gombe followed with 27 instances and the status of Plateau came next with 17 instances.
The states were Kwara-10, Enugu-9, Ogun-9, Katsina-3, Ekiti-2, Bauchi-1, Osun-1 and Rivers-1.
“To date 56388 have been confirmed, 44337 have been released and 1,083 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the territory of the federal capital,” he said.
Meanwhile, the firm said it is imperative that Nigerians assume a duty to maintain progress in the country’s reaction to COVID-19, in order to reduce the threat of a spike in cases of resumption of foreign flights.
“We have updated the self-de-insulating policy to reflect the existing protocol for returning travelers, this can be seen on our online page – covid19. ncdc. gov. ng.
“Every returning traveler will have to complete a COVID-19 check after seven days of self-de-idslation,” he said.
