The city of Gananoque is expected to open a COVID-19 pop-up check on Monday.
The check will be held in the parking lot of the Lou Jeffries Thousand Islands Recreation Center from 10 a. m. 6 p. m.
Mayor Ted Lojko said everything small towns asked for.
“People are invited to ride Herbert Street along Garden Avenue and queue there, and then medical emergency services and public fitness will control other people in their cars,” Lojko said.
Anyone who attends the pop-up window is asked to bring a mask, card and driver’s license, and patience, Lojko said.
“There would probably be a line, and you might have to wait a bit, but I think the faster other people try and the faster the audience participates in the process, the faster we can master this COVID-19.
The emerging clinic moves to Prescott on Tuesday.
Another way to keep things closed is to keep the Canada-U. S. border closed, said Lojko, who is a member of the border city’s 23-mayor organization. Bridges such as the Bridge of a Thousand Islands are expected to remain closed, he added.
“Right now it’s a little painful because we don’t have tourists from the states, but in the long run it will keep the extension of this and save the amount of spending that federal and provincial governments will have to do.
