The City Council criticized for ignoring coVID regulations on the Costa Blanca in good looks because “it is the egg hen that lays the golden eggs”

One of the most popular sites in Spain, the waterfalls of the Algar, located in the hills above Benidorm, has been criticized for the lack of social distance.

The site is notoriously narrow and, in some places, it is hardly to rub shoulders with other tourists.

Lack of parking spaces, a faulty tail formula and a failed three-team trend for all exacerbated the problems.

Management has reduced capacity to 800 visitors, but does not have a formula for telling other people in and out.

Since the closure of COVID-19 and the reopening of the site on June 22, there have been wonderful difficulties in handling the movement of people, however, two separate court cases have been filed on problems through Local Police.

The mayor of Callosa d’en Sarria, Andrés Molina, insists that the town hall is attentive to the statutes and that the number of visitors is “much less frequented than other summers”.

Opposition parties in the Council say they have issued warnings of overcrowding, “almost daily.”

Mari Carmen Mascaro of the Socialist Party PSOE that the reasons for the lethargy on the subject are economic.

“But the Algar is the golden egg hen for the city council, they don’t care as long as they make money,” he said.

The mayor replied that they “do everything they can to comply with regulations and control capacity [but] it is difficult to do so 100%.”

He also attributes many court cases to “the fact that other people are now more alarmed.”
