PANAMA CITY – With the qualification of applicants ending Friday at noon, seven applicants are expected to win their seats unopposed in the August Bay County election, while two hopefuls will fight for the District 2 seat on the Bay District School Board.
According to Bay County Supervisor of Elections Mark Andersen, qualified applicants for the 2022 Bay County Number One election, scheduled for Aug. 23, are:

“Sites are no longer indexed (on the website) because other people want to know where they want to spend Election Day,” Andersen said. “In the past, we didn’t do it because we had an emergency order to hold other elections (of) hurricane (Michael) and pandemic (COVID-19). . . . Now, on election day, you have to go to an express site, and to (find) you have to log in with your call and address. “
Early voting takes place august 10-20 from 10 a. m. m. to 6 p. m. The deadline for voter registration is July 25 and the last day to vote by mail is August 13.

“If you’re going to run in this election, don’t wait (at the last minute to register),” Andersen said. “I know there are a lot of other discussions about the integrity of elections. . . If you inquire or have any questions, please call my office. I’d be happy to speak with (you). I’d be (also) happy to offer a tour to show you what Bay County is doing to make sure (the) integrity of (its) elections. “
