In reaction to the new coronavirus pandemic, the BDO Foundation supports a massive testing initiative presented through medical experts as highly effective, cost-effective and scientifically sound. BDO Unibank’s corporate social service arm, in partnership with Go Negosyo, the local government of Makati City, the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) and the Philippine Society of Pathologists (PSP), is able to implement pilot tests in groups for underserved spaces in Makati. .
Grouped controls mix samples of American swabs and read about them in combination with an opposite transcription polymerized chain reaction control kit (RT-PCR). Groups of five, 10 or 20 other people are monitored based on the prevalence of COVID-19 in one area. Considered a game change in combat to engage the coronavirus, the focus deserves to develop verification capability, speed up verification and, in particular, decrease the load of RT-PCR kits.
Based on extensive studies conducted through the PSP, organizational tests are very effective. The joint initiative was officially unveiled on a virtual occasion attended by Teresita Sy-Coson, president of BDO Unibank and the BDO Foundation, executive director of BDO Unibank and director of the BDO Nestor V Foundation. Tan, president of the BDO Mario A. Deriquito Foundation and director of the BDO Ma Foundation. Corazon Mallillin.
The occasion also attended through Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepción, Makati City Mayor Abigail Binay, PCMC Executive Director Dr. Julius Lessons, PSP President Dr. Roberto Padua Jr., and iloilo’s first district representative, Dr. Janette Garin. Dr. Garin said the collaboration “will pave the way for a style that other local governments can follow. The result of this pilot implementation of clustered tests will be cascaded to other LGUs.”
“I am pleased to see that the first to respond to our call for help is the BDO Foundation,” Concepción said. “In fact, they have helped all the mandatory efforts for the fitness situation, which will eventually help our economy. Thank you for your unwavering help and for your help in overcoming this crisis.”
“We are in this noble cause, ” said Sy-Coson. “When we found out he was going to be tested in Makati, we were excited to participate. We look forward to running with our partners to make this task possible.”
According to Deriquito, “At the BDO Foundation, we help bulk testing because we believe the approach has immense potential to make RT-PCR testing more affordable and available to as many Filipinos as possible. We hope that this will have a significant effect on not only cities and provinces, but also on the country as a whole.
The RT-PCR tests grouped are the most recent corporate citizenship initiative undertaken through the BDO Foundation in reaction to COVID-19. In the past, the base supported the government’s RapidPass system, donating devices that allowed the immediate passage of frontline players’ cars through checkpoints and improved network quarantine. He supported ReliefAgad, an Internet application that automated and accelerated the distribution of monetary assistance to beneficiaries of the government’s social improvement program.
The BDO Foundation has also introduced the Weight by Weight Donation Campaign to gather resources for the procurement of kits and distribute them to the country’s under-hosted communities.
