COPENHAGEN, Nov 27 (Reuters) – Tesla has filed a lawsuit against the Swedish government’s Transport Agency over a workers’ strike that has blocked the U.S. auto maker’s requests for license plates for new vehicles, business daily Dagens Industri reported on Monday.
IF Metall, Sweden’s largest production union, is locked in a fight with Tesla to secure a collective agreement for its mechanics in Sweden. Metall went on strike by mechanics on Oct. 27, refusing to service Tesla cars.
Since then, members of other unions, including the dock and cleaning unions at PostalArray, have joined a solidarity action, which has prevented Tesla from distributing license plates in particular.
Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Swedish Transport Agency was quick to comment. (Reporting by Louise Breusch Rasmussen and Marie Mannes, editing by Leslie Adler)
