Tesla sued the Swedish Transport Agency after the postal service stopped handing out license plates related to the electric car company.
The move is intended to support a strike by Tesla metal workers in the country.

About 130 workers at Tesla’s Swedish plant have been on strike since Oct. 27, a not-so-easy deal that promises “smart wages, smart pensions, and smart insurance for staff,” according to IF Metall.

Tesla’s lawsuit, filed Monday in district court, accuses the transportation agency, which is part of the Swedish government, of unfairly wrongly failing to deliver license plates, according to reports.
It demanded access to the plates – a request that the court granted in a preliminary ruling, according to Swedish media.
The transient court order means the Transportation Agency, which had said it was forced to use the state-backed mail carrier, will have to turn over the plates to Tesla within seven days or face a fine.
A spokesman for the company said it had not been aware of the trial but did not believe it had breached its obligations.
“Tesla has to take this matter to court, which is their right,” Mikael Andersson said.
“We want to take a look at Tesla’s lawsuit and its reasoning. Reasonably, the District Court will allow the Swedish Transport Agency to speak in this case and our attitude towards Tesla’s reasoning will be clear. The District Court will then be able to hear the case. “
