Talks on the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the Ukrainian nuclear site: France’s Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron said Tuesday that there is an agreement on the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine and that discussions are underway on modalities.

“We control Chernobyl and our goal is Zaporizhzhia. The next few weeks will be crucial,” Macron said as he arrived to attend a conference abroad.

France is hosting a foreign convention in Paris to provide emergency aid to Ukraine amid freezing winter temperatures as Russian forces attack civilian infrastructure across the country.
