Talented expats will soon apply for a long-term apartment visa in Oman

Dubai: Talented expats living and working in Oman will soon apply for a long-term apartment visa, official news firm ONA reported on Wednesday.

Khalid Al Shuaibi, head of the National Program for Investment and Export Development, showed that the Sultanate plans to expand the investor residency program to include the categories of creators and innovators.

“After the implementation of the first phase of the program, we found that there is a developing call for other potential categories of innovators and vital segments of the economy that we are looking for,” Al Shuaibi said in a presentation on the 2021 annual report of Oman’s Vision 2040 Implementation Monitoring Unit.

Al Shuaibi said a proposal has been submitted to the Council of Ministers that includes new target groups, and will be announced as soon as the proposal is approved by the time of the residency program.

He said that the new categories proposed in the current phase come with creators, innovators, programmers and marketers as human capital for the national economy.
