Princess Madeleine of Sweden made her debut with an engagement ring in 2009 when she posed with her then-fiancé, Jonas Bergstrom. But the couple would never marry and Madeleine later accepted a marriage offer from her husband, Christopher O’Neill.
While Christopher’s Princess Madeleine engagement ring is made from a classic diamond, the stone is uniquely cut.
Jordan Cullen, jewellery expert and founder of Cullen Jewellery, said: “In 2013, Princess Madeleine of Sweden got engaged to financier Christopher O’Neill.
“An Asscher-cut diamond ring accompanied the couple’s engagement announcement.
“Madeleine’s ring features a giant 4K Asscher-cut diamond in the centre and is mounted on 4 claws, making the stone more visible.

“The band would be made of platinum, and the whole is adorned with diamond-set pavé. “
With its magnificent Asscher-cut diamond, the Madeleine ring is a classic of craftsmanship.
Jordan explained: “The ring is a truly amazing example of vintage elegance and is the best compatibility with Princess Royal Madeleine.
“The total price is around £140,000 for the selection of diamonds mined.

“The Asscher-cut diamond ring is an enduring jewel with history.
Originally evolved in 1902 through the Asscher Brothers of Amsterdam, the Asscher cut designed to mimic the emerald cut.
“However, it is temporarily popular in its own right, thanks to its unique silhouette and bright facets.
“Today, Asscher-cut diamond rings are for their vintage-inspired beauty. “

Asscher-cut diamond engagement rings are not prevalent in the British royal family circle, and many members of the royal family circle have opted for sapphires in recent decades.
But Kate, the sister of the Princess of Wales, Pippa Middleton, won a ring for Madeleine from her husband James Matthews.
Princess Madeleine had become engaged once before meeting her husband Christopher O’Neill, and debuted with another sail in the world.
In 2009, he announced that Madeleine was engaged to Jonas Bergstrom.
Her first engagement ring featured an emerald-cut diamond set horizontally in a sublime silver band.
After their engagement ended, Madeleine spent time running in New York.
She became engaged to financier Christopher in 2012 and the couple married in 2013.
They now have three children, Princess Léonore, Prince Nicholas and Princess Adrienne.
