St. Vincent and the Grenadines has shed COVID-19 protocols for the upcoming 2022/23 cruise season, welcoming unvaccinated cruise passengers for the first time in two years.
Making the announcement at the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) convention in the Dominican Republic this week,
Tourism Minister Carlos James said the resolution of fitness protocols for arriving cruise passengers follows an era of low international infections and low COVID-19 admissions to fitness services on the island.
During the last cruise season, protocols such as zones for vaccinated passengers were put in place.
For the upcoming 2022/23 season, fate will swap those protocols with new fitness guidelines.
“As the island prepares to welcome new cruise lines and return to its shores and with the island’s La Soufriere volcano now settled, the Minister of Tourism has assured stakeholders and cruise industry leaders that St. Vincent and the Grenadines is safe and free to explore the 2022/23 cruise season. ” the Ministry of Tourism said in a statement.
“Despite the many demanding situations we faced during the two cruise seasons beyond, from a fitness pandemic to the eruption of our country’s La Soufriere volcano, their strategic partnership has allowed us to navigate those turbulent times. “
