The Conference Board interviewed more than 1,300 C-Suite CEOs and executives about the long-term effects of COVID-19. They see a return to pre-pandemic income source grades in at least a year or more. More than 40% expect a U-shaped recovery, with a resumption of more sustainable expansion until the fourth quarter of 2020. Approximately one-third expects an L-shaped recovery, with sustained expansion not recovering until the end of 2021.
Leaders also say the crisis will force them to drive their virtual transformation plans and reconsider their business models. In addition, they see greater urgency around the long-term restructuring of the chains of origin, reflecting some confidence in their ability to manage emerging risks. Most of them also think that cities will lose their resistance.
