Police have discovered paintings by Picasso and Shahal stolen from an Israeli collector many years ago in the basement of a shop in the Belgian city of Antwerp. Its value is estimated at $900,000, Reuters reports.
We are talking about the paintings Tête (“Head”) by Pablo Picasso and Mark Shahal’s L’homme en prière (“Praying man”). Both paintings were stolen from a private collection in Tel Aviv in 2010, their total value is estimated at 900 thousand dollars.
Along with the paintings, $680,000 worth of jewelry was also stolen, but has yet to be found.
The paintings were hidden in the basement of a house in Antwerp, they were discovered by the police. Both excavations appear to be in good condition.
Previously, A had informed the Belgian authorities that the works stolen through Shahal and Picasso were for sale. The local prosecutor reported that the main suspect had been arrested.
