Today is World Kindness Day. Make this data what you want. Sure, it’s just a made-up day, but unlike sweet corn or cilantro, kindness is a much less debatable topic.
Here’s what you want to know to start your week smart.
• Democrats will maintain their narrow majority in the U. S. Senate for the next two years, CNN projects, following victories in Nevada and Arizona.

• Dolly Parton is the winner of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ $100 million Value and Civility Award.
Mondays
President Joe Biden is expected to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping this week ahead of the G20 summit, their first face-to-face meeting since Biden took office and which will provide an opportunity to explain the world’s most important bilateral relationship.
It is the birthday of King Carlos III, who turns 74 on November 14.
Tuesday
The G20 summit officially begins on the Indonesian island of Bali.
