Standardization with Oman ‘soon’: Israeli media

Jerusalem

Oman will be the next Arab country to normalize with Israel, according to Israeli media on Sunday.

Israeli officials Oman will soon signal a standardization agreement with Israel under U. S. sponsorship, Israel’s Channel 12 reported.

The channel, however, said the normalization of relations between Israel and Oman would likely take a position after the US election.

So far, Muscat has commented on the Israeli media report.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu showed that “other countries will continue,” referring to Israel’s standardization agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Sudan.

Oman welcomed projects from the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain to normalize with Israel.

In 2018, Netanyahu marveled at Oman and met with Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed.

On Friday, U. S. President Donald Trump said Sudan and Israel had agreed to normalize relations.

Sudan, the fifth Arab country to identify official relations with Israel after Egypt in 1979, Jordan in 1994 and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain in September 2020.
