St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg reports third COVID-19 outbreak

For the third time in less than two weeks, St. John’s Hospital. Boniface has seen an outbreak of COVID-19 in one of its units.

In a memorandum received through Global News, the hospital said its B5 medical unit had implemented epidemic protocols after “positive cases” were discovered.

There is no information about the number of instances on the drive.

Late last week, the hospital’s E6 unit was the site of the first outbreak on campus, while nearby E5 unit declared the time of the outbreak a few days later.

As of Wednesday, 11 patients and five members had obtained positive control effects between the two outbreaks.

The memorandum indicates that hospital control is working with public ability to identify close contacts and inspire them to isolate themselves.

Following the declaration of the epidemic, the unit will now close new revenue and restrict visits, forcing families to move into the square.

That follows a dark day for Manitoba on Friday, when COVID-19 hospitalizations increased from nine, now to a pandemic of 51 across the province.

Eight of these patients are in intensive care units.

There were 163 new instances at the provincial level, and until Saturday morning, Manitoba had 1,855 active instances.
