Squire: DOH “avoids” COVID-19 in PH “until vaccine is invented”

MANILA, Philippines – For the governor of Sorsogon, Francis “Chiz” Escudero, the Ministry of Health (DOH) is simply “avoiding” the COVID-19 epidemic prevailing in the country until a vaccine is created against the life-threatening disease.

“I think the DOH is ‘coming out’ of COVID-19 until a vaccine is invented,” the former teller wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.

– Chiz Escudero (@SayChiz) 28 July 2020

Escudero added: “DoH, as IATF’s leading firm, does just that: proactively lead [and] not just publish statistics.”

IATF stands for Inter-Agency Working Group on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

INQUIRER.net contacted DOH for comments on Squire’s statement. However, from this publication, INQUIRER.net has still gained a reaction from doH.

Four days before the end of July, the Philippines recorded a total of 82,040 cases of COVID-19, a serious respiratory disease through SARS-CoV-2. Of these, 1,945 patients died while 26,446 were successful.
