SINGAPORE: Special arrangements have been made for COVID-19 testing for travellers travelling to China between next Friday and Monday, the Singapore government said Wednesday night (August 26).

Passengers must take their COVID-19 checks at the Regional Control Center (RSC) at 450 Jurong East Street 21 every day until Sunday, the government said. The COVID-19 check costs S$186.

Data provided through the Ministries of Trade and Industry, Health, Labour, Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore in response to media requests following recent restrictions on passengers departing singapore to China.

From Friday, travelers from Singapore to China will need to make a COVID-19 check within five days of their flight so as not to have coronavirus.

He announced it through the Chinese Embassy in Singapore on his online page last Friday.

The RSC will be open from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 16:00 until Sunday.

Travellers who take the check will be informed of the effects by email within 48 hours, the Singapore government said.

“We’ve asked airlines to make those arrangements with their passengers,” the government said.

Since Tuesday, some 730 passengers have passed through the CSR, they added.

PROVISIONS FROM SEPTEMBER 1

The government added that other arrangements would be for travelers on flights to China starting September 1.

Those who require pre-departure tests for travel because of essential business and employment should approach the Ministry of Trade and Industry at [email protected].

Employers of Chinese citizens with active or cancelled entry permits and S passes returning to China can schedule their tests using the normal swab registration formula if eligible, or request samples from the Ministry of Labor Regional Medical Centers.

For reasons similar to education, for humanitarian or other reasons, the questions deserve to be addressed to the Ministry of Health in [email protected].

The Chinese Embassy in Singapore had stated in the past that passengers can choose to check at any hospital or clinic on the Singapore Ministry of Health’s website.

After obtaining a negative check for COVID-19, passengers must send the result by email, along with a scanned copy of a form of fitness statement and the biographical page of their passport to the Chinese Embassy.

It will take at least one business day to verify the documents, the embassy said. Once verified, a form of qualified declaration of aptitude will be issued to the passenger, who must print it out and provide it before boarding the flight, the embassy added.

On Tuesday, cheap airline Scoot sent an email to consumers detailing the new COVID-19 requirement for flights to China.

The email, addressed to passengers who booked a Singapore-Guangzhou flight on Sunday, informed them of the need for a COVID-19 check until Wednesday at a regional hub at a former school.
