Spain reports 31428 new COVID-19s from Friday

MADRID – Spain has registered 31,428 more cases of coronavirus since Friday, bringing the total number of infections shown to 671,468, according to knowledge of the fitness ministry on Monday.

The total number of COVID-19 deaths reached 30,663, the ministry said, up from 30,495 on Friday.

Spain has the number of COVID-19 cases in Western Europe and the regional government ordered a partial closure from Monday in some areas of Madrid where cases are expanding rapidly. Partial closure sparked protests.

The Spanish capital represents approximately one third of the COVID-19 instances in the country (Report via Inti Landauro edited through Gareth Jones).
