Spain reports 1,833 new coronavirus infections, below last week’s record

MADRID – Spain has diagnosed 1,833 new coronavirus infections in more than 24 hours, the Ministry of Fitness said on Monday, below Friday’s post-lockout record of 2987, but more than 3 times the July average.

Daily infection statistics tend to decrease on Mondays because there are fewer diagnoses on Sundays.

The cumulative cases, which come with antibody control effects in patients who have already recovered, increased to 359,082, of which 32,389 were detected in the last seven days, the ministry said. (Report through Inti Landauro; edited through Nathan Allen)
