MADRID – The Spanish government and the regional government are about to reduce the quarantine imposed on those who have had contact with others who tested positive for coronavirus to 10 days of the last 14 days, radio station Cadena SER reported on Tuesday.
Spain has the number of COVID-19 cases in Western Europe and the regional government ordered a partial closure since Monday in some parts of Madrid and other regions are taking steps to stop the contagion.
Authorities have diagnosed more than 670,000 cases in the country since the outbreak began and 30,663 have died from the disease.
El Ser said the regions and the central government would agree to a shorter quarantine later in the day. The northeastern region of Catalonia has already announced that it will accumulate for up to ten days.
