Spain, July, unemployment to a peak since 1997

(RTTNews) – Unemployment in Spain recorded its biggest drop in July since 1997, following the sharp increase in March and April 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to data from the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Social Security on Tuesday.

The number of registered unemployed fell to 89,849 or 2.33, consistent with the penny last July. Unemployment had risen to 5,107 in June.

Unemployment rose to 3.77 million in July.

Unemployment in the sector fell to 84,563. In the industry, unemployment fell to 9,444 and 6,556 in construction. At the same time, unemployment in the agricultural sector increased to 11,108.
